Many pockets of Prague accommodation lie just outside the city centre, and one of the calmest would have to be Bílá Hora ("White Mountain"). While those who have chosen their Prague apartment in this area do benefit from the quiet serenity of the area, they are also still able to maintain easy access to the centre-Bílá Hora is located at the end of the line for Tram # 22, which connects to a number of Metro stations.
Bílá Hora, the site of an infamous and bitter military battle in the Thirty Years' War, has now become a rather quaint area and Prague accommodation in this area is far more peaceful today.
One big advantage to living in a smaller community is that the prices tend to drop the farther one gets out of the city. On a recent visit to a local restaurant & pub in Bílá Hora, I was pleased to discover that both the beer and the light snacks that were ordered were considerably less than they would have been in Prague's touristy centre.
Another popular attraction that is available to those who have decided on a Prague apartment in the Bílá Hora area is the lush greenness of Obora Hvězda, a large park conveniently located nearby that is perfect for a summer stroll or jog.
